If you live at 82 Flats at the Crossing, then you know our apartments at Keystone at the Crossing already keep you close to top dining destinations. But it’s always fun to add to the list! Check out some of the latest additions and go give them a taste.
#1: Vicino
Estimated drive time from 82 Flats at the Crossing: about 25 minutes
Make your way downtown to this modern Italian restaurant on Mass Ave. They have 4 different menus (lunch, dinner, brunch, and cocktails) that each feature traditional Italian flavors. Do you have any dietary restrictions? They conveniently label their menu on their website with gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options so you can easily skim and find something delicious to suit you. A highlight of their menu is definitely the weekend brunch served Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 3 PM. You can sample caprese avocado toast, breakfast pizza, or a cannoli waffle.
#2: Eating Fresh
Estimated drive time from 82 Flats at the Crossing: about 15 minutes
Check out this new addition to the Broad Ripple area. It’s all about reimagining but also celebrating traditional Vietnamese food. They offer a regular menu that includes pho, banh mi, banh bao, and much more. There’s also a specialty menu with kebabs, hot pots, hibachi grilling experiences, or even something called the extravaganza menu that has to be requested 24-48 hours in advance. If you choose the extravaganza, you’ll need to grab a friend since it’s for two people minimum, but it features some of the most incredible menu items in an extensive dining experience.
#3: Bober Tea & Mochi Dough
Estimated drive time from 82 Flats at the Crossing: about 15 minutes
This franchise found a strong start in California, but it’s now made its way to the Carmel area. You can sample some refreshing boba teas or try incredible Japanese mochi donuts. The tea and coffee selections include lattes, milk teas, a chizu series of drinks with cheese cream on top, fruit teas, boba and jelly add-ins, and more. The Japanese mochi donuts are a new taste experience for anyone who’s used to traditional donuts. They are made with rice flour instead of yeast, so they have a unique texture and fun shape. The flavors are also unique. Some options you’ll see pop up include taro, black sesame, and funnel cake.
#4: Nando’s Mexican & Brazilian Cuisine
Estimated drive time from 82 Flats at the Crossing: about 15 minutes
It usually isn’t too hard to find a Mexican restaurant near you, but Brazilian is a unique food experience. Nando’s is in the Broad Ripple neighborhood and features some stunning flavors from Brazil. They also offer outdoor seating, so it’s a great place to get food and fresh air all at once. Some menu items that have popped up in recent features include Muqueca de Peixe, Pão de Queijo (a gluten-free cheese bread), and many more exciting dishes to try.
#5: Thai Curbside by Sawasdee
Estimated drive time from 82 Flats at the Crossing: about 10 minutes
If the name “Sawasdee” rings a bell, that’s because this restaurant is the comeback of a beloved restaurant called Sawasdee that had to close due to the strains of the pandemic. The owner has now opened a whole new location with the same beloved menu items. You can enjoy Thai classics like pad thai, drunken noodles, laab, curries, sticky rice and mango, and more. They also offer catering services.
